Jesus Taught the Effectiveness of Prayer

Luke 11:5-13

Prayers of petition are not sedition.

For a good story pray for God’s glory.

When we don’t swear, we have effective prayer.

Sometimes praying may seem like pestering,

But praying is better than festering.

Pray with folded hands without gesturing.

The Holy Spirit is the greatest gift.

We can count on Him to give us a lift.

We have confidence to call God Father

And participate in the grace of Christ.

Please, please do not just take my word for it.

Saint Basil wrote about it; I read it.

My father asked us to pray for his hair.

I try to avoid a chocolate éclair.
