Sports Faith International is an initiative of Catholic Radio WSFI 88.5 FM that honors athletes, coaches, and others from sports at the professional, collegiate, and high school levels who lead exemplary lives. This year’s annual Sports Faith International (SFI) Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony was held at the DoubleTree Hilton in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, from 6-9 PM on Saturday, May 22, 2021. 

Coach Lifetime Achievement Award

Dave Pishkur, Varsity Baseball Coach of Andrean High School was at the Sports Faith International Dinner to accept the Coach Lifetime Achievement Award for 2021. Pishkur discussed his 41 years of accomplishments at the school, which is located at 5959 Broadway in Merrillville, Indiana. Pishkur has racked up a record of 1014-284 with a .781 winning percentage and amassed 7 State Championships. Under Pishkur, the Andrean 59’ers have sent 10 players into the professional ranks, over 130 players went on to be collegiate baseball players.

The award ceremonies were hosted by Patrick McCaskey, Chair of Sports Faith International. Prayers were lead by Episcopal Advisor to SFI, Bishop Thomas Paprocki, from the Diocese of Springfield. The Event was organized and managed by Angela Tomlinson Station Director of WSFI 88.5 PM and a host of others helping out.
