Dave Duerson was born in Muncie Indiana and went to Muncie Northside High School. He played at Notre Dame and was 3rd round draft choice of the Chicago Bears. He played safety for the Bears from 1983-1989. He played for the New York Giants in 1990 and then finished out his career with the Phoenix Cardinals from 1991-1993.

Duerson played in 4 Pro Bowls and 2 Super Bowls: Super Bowl XX with the Bears and Super Bowl XXV with the Giants. Duerson won the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award that honors a player’s excellence on the field and his volunteer/ charity work.
