Alshon Jeffery was born in St. Matthew, South Carolina, and attended Calhoun County High School there where he played basketball and football. He attended the University of South Carolina and put in a stellar performance as wide receiver for three seasons. Jeffery was a second round draft choice of the Bears in 2012.
Receiver Alshon Jeffery, at 6-foot-4 and 230 pounds, played with the Bears from 2012-2016 and then with the Philadelphia Eagles from 2017-2020. For the Bears, he challenged long established receiving records, but also suffered some injuries. As a Bear, Jeffery had 304 receptions for 4,549 yards and 26 touchdowns. For his career, he had 475 receptions for 6,786 yards and 45 touchdowns. Jeffrey was invited to the 2013 Pro Bowl and he caught a touchdown pass in the Eagles Super Bowl LII victory over the Patriots.
Jeffrey had the third most receiving yards in Bears history following Harlon Hill and Johnny Morris. Jeffrey was named on the 100 Greatest Bears of All Time list.
