Allan Ellis was born in Los Angeles. He went to Centennial High School in Compton and attended UCLA. He played defensive back for the Bruins and won many awards in college. He was a 5th round draft pick of the Bears and played cornerback with them from from 1973-1980. He finished out his career with the Chargers in 1981. He was invited to the Pro Bowl in 1973. When he was with the Bears, he was one of the best defensive men on the roster. After his playing days, Ellis had coached a youth football team and conducted youth football camps. Ellis was named a Top 100 Chicago Bears of All Time.
