Olin Kreutz was born in Honolulu, Hawaii where he attended Saint Louis High School. He participated in track and field, wrestling and football. Kreutz attended the University of Washington, where he played center on the football team. The Chicago Bears drafted Kreutz in the third round of the 1998 draft. Kruetz played center for 13 seasons for the Bears and finished out his career with the New Orleans Saints. He played on 6 Pro Bowls and he was All Pro in 2006. Olin Kruetz is now a football analyst for Chicago media outlets.

Statistics don’t tell you much about a center in football, but it’s impossible to have a good offensive line without a great center.  Kruetz was an excellent center and like many of the best he played without trepidation, but with toughness and grit.

Kreutz was name on the Top 100 Bears of All Time list.
