Ted Karras
Ted Karras was born in Gary Indiana and attended Indiana University. He was key lineman who played tackle and guard for the Bears from 1960-1964. He served as the starting left guard on the 1963 championship team. Ted was one of three bothers who played professional football: Ted, Lou, and Alex. Ted’s son played for a short while in the NFL and his grandson is currently playing for Miami Dolphins after 4 years with New England.
Ted Karras finished up with a year in Detroit (1965) and then 1 year with the Los Angeles Rams (1966). Ted’s brother Alex was a long time member of the Detroit Lions and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He also enjoyed a career in television and movies.
