A Poem from a Former Patrol Boy, By Patrick McCaskey

Mark 13:33-37

Jesus said that we should be vigilant.
From “Navarre” we know we must be vibrant.
This is a parable; let’s be prepared.
It is not good for us to know the time,
Since we would only be good at the end.
Being faithful is our mountain to climb.

Jesus is the traveling householder.
Peter is the vigilant gatekeeper.
We’re the servants who are here to wash feet.
Getting to heaven would be really neat.
Our job is to obey the Commandments
In the Spirit of the Beatitudes.

We are the sentinels and the sentries.
Like patrol boys, let us be attentive.
