Christ Did Not Give Offence; He Paid Taxes

Matthew 17:22-27

Jesus taught His Disciples about His

Passion and Resurrection, and the Church.

They were upset about the Passion.  They

Were consoled by Jesus and His power.

Jesus was not required to pay taxes

Because He was the Lord of the temple.

He told Peter to pay taxes to show

Respect and honor for authority.

Christ performed a miracle of a coin

In a fish and showed His kind providence.

Thanks to Steve Martin, we know how to be

A millionaire and never pay taxes.

“First, get a million dollars.”  When asked why

You never paid taxes, say “I forgot.”
