Christ Foretold His Death and Resurrection

                Matthew 16:21-27

Jesus knew that He would be sacrificed.

He accepted this as His destiny.

He also knew that His death was not the end.

He would rise from death and receive glory.

Peter did not want Jesus to suffer.

Then Jesus quickly corrected Peter.

Christ had to suffer to be Messiah.

This was His mission.  He accepted it.

Christ explained what commitment to Him means.

We offer ourselves as a sacrifice.

Holiness is a spiritual battle.

Mortification leads to joy and peace.

Des Plaines is the City of Destiny.

Illinois is the Land of Abe Lincoln.
