Christ Is the One Who Reveals the Father

John 6:37-40

Jesus Christ is our gateway to Heaven.

He gives us our noble aspirations.

When I was a student at Saint Mary’s

In Des Plaines, the City of Destiny,

We had Mass on First Fridays.  After Mass,

We consumed sweet rolls and hot chocolate

For ten cents that went to the missions.

When I was a child, at the end of grace

Before meals, my father used to say, “Dear

Lord, please convert the Russians.  Our Lady

Help of the sick pray for them.  May the souls

Of the faithful departed, through the mer-

cy of God, rest in peace, Amen.”  Later,

He said, “In your prayers, remember the Bears.”
