Dialogue Between Pilate and Jesus

John 18:33b-37

Jesus had a spiritual mission.

He did not seek independence from Rome.

This was hard for Pilate to understand.

Christ’s Kingdom prepares us for Judgement Day.

From the “Roman Missal,” Preface of the

Mass of Christ the King, we know that the King-

dom of Jesus really is truth and life;

Holiness and grace; justice, love, and peace.

From the “Workbook for Lectors,” we know that

“The humble service and total sacri-

fice of Christ the King is the truth that res-

cues humanity from itself and re-

stores the dignity of the human race.”

Jesus Christ did not need Perry Mason.
