Jesus Christ Taught Us to Pay Our Taxes

Mark 12:13-17

During the two thousand eight preseason,

I was asked who will start at quarterback.

I said, “Render to Lovie the things that

are Lovie’s, to God the things that are God’s.”

Tax time is the most tedious time of

The year.  With the tax people working, and

The IRS lurking it’s hard to cheer,

It’s the most tedious time of the year.

There’s a deadline for filing, not much time

For smiling and wistfully watching the

Snow.  There’ll be scary tax stories, tales of

the glories of deadlines met long ago.

There’ll be no double filing and may-

Be some smiling when the deadline is here.
