Jesus Cures a Woman on the Sabbath

Luke 13:10-17

From the Navarre Bible commentary,

We know that “By performing this cure on

A sabbath, Jesus shows his divine mag-

nanimity…the sabbath is a day

For praise of God and a day of joy.  That

Is why it made sense to cure the woman…?”

Jesus Christ had mercy and tenderness.

Persistent compassion imitates God.

Let us stand up straight and glorify God.

If you cannot stand up straight, do your best.

On the day of rest, we are God’s guest.

It does not have to be on a Sunday.

Monday through Friday, I ride ten miles each

Day on a stationary bike.  On most

Saturdays, I run four hundred meters.
