Jesus Set the Pace for the Day of Rest

Matthew 12:1-8

The miracles of Jesus supported

His teaching.  Jesus taught service to God

And neighbors do not break the Sabbath rest.

Sunday is not a day of rest for priests.

The merciful can see God and His works.

God would like to see His likeness in us.

Since we have received justice and mercy,

We should be just and merciful.  Amen.

Since we were created in God’s image,

He would like to see Himself in our hearts.

Our lives should imitate His works.  Amen.

Our good works will always be rewarded.

If our ox falls into a ditch on a

Sunday, we should get it out on that day.
