Jesus Went and Told It on a Mountain

Matthew 5:1-12

The Beatitudes begin like the Psalms.

Christ said God was constant and generous.

It’s a small world; so, we have to behave.

It’s for us to mend what is broken.

Even on earth, meekness is not weakness.

Jackie Vernon said, “Meek shall inherit

The earth.  They’d be too scared to refuse it.”

When we think about the poor in spirit,

The mourners, the meek, the righteous seeking,

The merciful, the heart clean, peacemakers,

And the persecuted, let’s remember

Boy Scouts are trustworthy, loyal, helpful,

Friendly, courteous, kind, obedient,

Cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.
