Jesus Went Fishing for Disciples

Luke 5:1-11

When Peter, James, and John fished on their own,

Without Jesus, they were unsuccessful.

With Christ as their guide, the fish did not hide.

They jumped into the boat; they did not float.

From the Navarre Bible commentary,

Here is what I learned from the passage.

Remember the past with gratitude; live

The present with enthusiasm; look

Forward to the future with confidence.

“Like all those chosen by God for a mission,

Jesus said to Peter, “Do not be afraid.”

My best lunch is tuna on rye, without

The contamination of celery

And a banana strawberry smoothie.
