Mary of Bethany Anointed Christ

John 12:1-11

After Jesus had raised Lazarus from

The dead, He made a follow-up house call.

Christ visited Lazarus, Martha, and

Mary at their home.  They ate together.

They had made a meal for Him.  Martha served.

Lazarus and others sat with Jesus.

Mary anointed Jesus with a costly

ointment.  Judas soundly criticized her.

Jesus told Judas to leave her alone.

Ointment could be used for His burial.

Mary responded to the love of Christ.

She was magnanimous and gave her all.

Jesus indirectly announced His coming

death.  There would not be time for much planning.
