Peter’s Faith and the Passion Announcement
Luke 9:18-22
Jesus prayed. Then He asked the disciples,
“Who do the people say that I am?” The
Disciples answered John the Baptist or
Elijah or one of the old prophets.
Christ asked, “But who do you say that I am?”
Peter professed his faith that Christ was God.
Christ said the disciples should tell no one.
He was not eager to be crucified.
From the Navarre Bible notes we know that
Saint John Vianney wrote, “a person who
Loves pleasure, who seeks comfort, who flies from
Anything that might spell suffering, who
Is over-anxious, who complains, who blames
…a person like that is” not living right.
