Pray with Humility and Confidence
Luke 5:12-16
From the Navarre Bible commentary,
We know that “The man’s disease made him very
(very) ugly, and people shunned him for fear
Of contagion. Sin has the same effects.”
We sin. We need forgiveness and God’s grace.
“With humility and confidence, we
Will often borrow the leper’s words and
Pray, ‘Lord if you will, you can make me clean.’”
And “the Gospel shows us Jesus going
Off alone, to pray. We too need to set a-
Side time for frequent, personal prayer in
The midst of our daily activities.”
Now let’s review. If we ask Jesus to
Cure our ugliness, He will make us clean.
