The Family of Jesus Grows and Grows

                Luke 8:19-21

When Jesus Christ spoke, there was a big crowd.

Then Rodney Dangerfield said, “What a crowd.”

Christ said, “My mother and my brethren are

those who hear the word of God and do it.”

They have the right credentials for Heaven.

From Saint Augustine, we know that “Mary

is blessed above all because she listened

to the word of God and fulfilled it.”  Amen.

The Navarre Bible notes are instructive.

Amen.  “This episode…serves to reveal

the dignity of those who hear the word.”

Athletes and athletes who have gone to seed,

sometimes known as coaches, are in need of

Christ and each other.  We’re teammates in Christ.
