The Kingdom of God Overruled Satan

Luke 11:14-23

Critics said Jesus worked with the devil.

Christ denied the charge and warned the critics.

They saw people had been freed from Satan.

Their stubbornness gave him a place to work.

This passage is blunt and polemical.

The devil is strong; he enslaved mankind.

Christ is stronger; He defeated Satan.

We need to make room for God’s Kingdom.

The Navarre Bible notes are instructive.

Saint Caesarius of Arles said that,

“At our Baptism, we were made into

Temples of the Holy Spirit.”  Don’t sin.

When we are at home, when we are away,

The Holy Spirit helps us every day.
