The Preparations for the Last Supper

Matthew 26:14-25

The Passover was a celebration

of liberation from slavery in

Egypt. Moses had said an unblemished

Lamb should be sacrificed and then eaten.

When Jesus was here, lamb was sacrificed

In the temple of Jerusalem.  Then meals

Took place in the homes of people who had

Gathered together for celebration.

Unleavened bread was also served because

The Israelites took that from Egypt.

He had His Disciples say to a man

they would have Passover at the man’s house.

Jesus knew that He was the Lamb who would

Later be sacrificed for our salvation.
