On June 8, 2019, the 14-0 Saint Catherine’s High School football team was honored as the Sports Faith International High School Team of the year. In a special ceremony held at the University of St. Mary of the Lake in Mundelein, Illinois, many Team members and coaches of the State Champion
Angels were on hand to receive the SFI trophy.

The Angels season came to a miraculous end as they battled St. Croix Central for the crown. In the low scoring affair, St. Croix was sitting on a 7-0 lead until seconds on the clock. Four times during the game, the Angels were stopped in the red zone. Finally, the Angels got down to the 2-year line after several fits and starts. Quarterback DaShaun Brown took it in himself behind his blockers and scored. The Angles went for a 2-point conversion to win and it was Brown again who ran it in.

Sports Faith International is chaired by Chicago Bears Vice President Patrick McCaskey–the media initiative honors exceptional athletes, coaches and others who lead exemplary lives.
